We'll get to that, but I'm Andy - the guy behind Yellow Wood Photography and I really like being behind the camera. Life passes us all by quickly and this makes catching the little things that happen and isolating them in time such a joy for me.
I've been a stay at home dad for the past 5 years and I've learned what it takes to get good images of fast-moving and somewhat less than cooperative subjects. Sometimes folks, both young and old, just don't like getting their picture taken and I can understand this, but it should be looked at as a selfless thing in this case - something you do for others. Not too long ago, I took one of the last photos of someone who was doing something they truly loved. I was able to take a photo of someone truly living before their life was cut short. Consider yourself lucky to be photographed, if only as proof that you lived.
Now, back to that Yellow Wood thing. I get that a lot actually. It comes from a Robert Frost poem that I've enjoyed for years. Art has always been my road not taken. As a kid, I was taught that artists are poor and are, more often than not, failures. Well, after half a life of doing things for money, I decided that I would stray down this road not taken, and it's made all the difference.
